Fruits for Glowing Skin

Eat Your Way to Radiant Skin: My Favorites Fruits for Glowing Skin

Fruit is one of my favorite beauty foods—nature’s version of skincare. The water content, antioxidants, and vitamins in fruit don’t just nourish your body, they help hydrate, brighten, and support the skin from the inside out.

Every week, I wash, prep, and store a variety of fruits so they’re easy to grab, enjoy, and rotate into meals. This week’s lineup: pineapple, peaches, blueberries, navel oranges, pink lady apples, kiwi, mandarin oranges, watermelon, and raspberries. Below, I’m sharing what makes each one skin-friendly, how I clean and store them, and a few ways I love to enjoy them.

🍍 Pineapple

Why it’s good for you:
Rich in vitamin C and bromelain, pineapple helps boost collagen production and reduce inflammation—both great for glowing, calm skin.

How to clean/store:
Trim the top and bottom, slice the peel, and core it. Store in an airtight container, and use within 3–4 days.

Ways I enjoy it:
As-is cold from the fridge, or frozen and blended into a glow-boosting smoothie.

🍑 Peaches

Why it’s good for you:
Peaches are packed with beta-carotene (vitamin A), which supports cell turnover for smoother, more even skin.

How to clean/store:
Rinse under cool water and gently rub the skin. Slice and store in a shallow container, ideally with paper towel to absorb moisture.

Ways I enjoy it:
Sliced with coconut whipped cream or mixed into cereal with oat milk.

🫐 Blueberries

Why it’s good for you:
Tiny but mighty—blueberries are full of antioxidants that help fight oxidative stress and keep skin youthful.

How to clean/store:
Soak briefly in a mix of water and white vinegar (3:1 ratio), then rinse and dry well. Store in a container lined with a dry paper towel.

Ways I enjoy it:
In cereal, on yogurt, or frozen for a cool snack.

🍊 Navel Oranges

Why it’s good for you:
High in vitamin C, oranges help support collagen and brighten dull skin from the inside out.

How to clean/store:
Wash the peel before slicing or peeling, then store wedges or rounds in a covered container.

Ways I enjoy it:
Sliced with cinnamon sprinkled on top or in a fruit salad with berries.

🍎 Pink Lady Apples

Why it’s good for you:
Apples are hydrating and high in fiber, which supports digestion—key for healthy skin.

How to clean/store:
Wash thoroughly and slice just before eating (or toss in lemon water to keep fresh). Store sliced apples in water with a splash of lemon juice to avoid browning.

Ways I enjoy it:
With peanut butter, cinnamon, or on top of oatmeal.

🥝 Kiwi

Why it’s good for you:
Kiwi is loaded with vitamin C and E, both of which help support skin elasticity and glow.

How to clean/store:
Rinse well, peel, and slice. Store in a sealed container and use within 2–3 days.

Ways I enjoy it:
Mixed with berries or eaten frozen on a hot day.

🍊 Mandarin Oranges

Why it’s good for you:
Easy to peel and snack on, mandarins are full of vitamin C and water—great for a midday skin boost.

How to clean/store:
Rinse before peeling. Store peeled segments in a glass or plastic container lined with a paper towel.

Ways I enjoy it:
Alone, or with a square of dark chocolate as a sweet treat.

🍉 Watermelon

Why it’s good for you:
Hydration powerhouse. Watermelon is 92% water and contains lycopene, which helps protect skin from free radicals.

How to clean/store:
Wash the outside before slicing. Store cubes or wedges in a covered container, and enjoy within a few days.

Ways I enjoy it:
Straight from the fridge, or frozen in chunks as a cool summer snack.

🍇 Raspberries

Why it’s good for you:
Full of antioxidants and fiber, raspberries support healthy digestion and skin detoxification.

How to clean/store:
Rinse gently just before eating (they’re fragile). Store dry in a container with a paper towel base.

Ways I enjoy it:
With coconut whipped cream or stirred into overnight oats.

🧼 How I Clean & Prep Everything

  1. Soak delicate berries in a vinegar-water-baking soda solution for a few minutes to remove bacteria and extend freshness.
  2. Rinse all firmer fruits under cold water.
  3. Let everything dry completely on a clean towel.
  4. Slice and organize into clear plastic containers—I recently bought a new set that I love. (Click here to see)
  5. Store in the fridge where it’s easy to see and grab throughout the week.
